Austin Mortgage Market Update

Median Listing Price

According to realtor.com, the median listing price has been on the rise over the past three years. By September 2015, the median listing price was $375,500 and increased the following year to $399,900. By September 2017, the median price listed was $410,000 and the current listing price for September 2018 is $420,000, which is a 2.4% increase over the past year and an 11.9% increase over the past three years.

Median Price Per Square Foot

The median price per square foot has followed similar trends to that of the listing price. In 2015, the square footage price was $117 and rose to $190 one year later. By 2017, the median price was $203 and the current price per square foot is $210.

Houston Market Update

Median Listing Price

Realtor.com states that the median listing price for Houston has been constantly increasing over the past three years. By September 2015, the median listing price was $269,900 and increase to $279,500 the following year. By 2017, the median price listed was $279,900 and the current median listing price for September 2018 is $293,000.

Median Price Per Square Foot

The median square footage price has also mirrored the same increasing trends as the listing price. By September 2015, the median price per square foot was $109 and rose to $114 by 2016. The following year, the median price was $116 per square foot and the current median price is $123.
